Fantastic trim router! The brushless motor packs a punch. I purchased the set version which comes with plunge base, offset base, side fence and various other extras. I have done edge work on hardwoods and softwoods and even cut out a 400mm circle in 22mm meranti. I sold my larger Festool router because this suits my needs better and can be used one handed for most of the tasks I need it for.

One of the best sanders on the market today. With variable speed is gentle enough for finish sanding and with the right grit and abrasive can be used for aggressive removal too. The ergonomics are great, has a brushless motor and the vibration reduction tech is brilliant. I can sand for hours on end with no numbness, tingling or pain in my wrist and I have a repetitive strain injury in my wrist. This is the 5mm orbit model and there is a 3mm orbit version too for really fine finishing. I own ets ec 150/5 eq-plus version which didn’t include the covered vac hose and is therefore cheaper. The covered hose protects the work piece and has its own systainer to be stored in, nice touch but does push the price up.

Using it on serving boards after applying Howard’s Cutting board oil. I buff the final coat with my sander and lambs wool pad.
Depending on the wood used the drying time even once you think all the conditioner has been removed will vary greatly, even a few days but it is worth it!
I put the bottle in a empty plastic container filled with hot tap water and then shake the bottle well to mix the contents prior to applying, makes it a lot easier to mix and apply.

Using it to seal serving boards made from a variety of species. Easy to apply and brings out the details in the wood nicely. The instructions on the bottle are just a guide since different wood species will absorb the oil differently.

Works well, walnut blended in perfectly. Only downside I found was once the colour stick has reached a certain point in the gun, you have to insert another stick to keep the filler coming out otherwise it stops ejecting filler – so you might run out of sticks relatively quickly.

Arrived this morning, will use it for the first time in the next couple of days. However really top quality product and the blade is very sharp, you could shave with it!

  • Can you use the longer BCD360 sticks in the BCD180?
They are the same diameter, just different lengths

    • Good day @john , unfortunately the BCD360 sticks will not work on the BCD180 gun. This is because the BCD360 sticks require a higher heating temperature in order to be used. This temperature can only be achieved with the BCD360 repair gun.

  • When are you expecting to have stock of Mix Bag 2 again?

  • Bare tool means it does not come with any batteries or charger. It keeps the pricing lower and you only buy a full kit (tool + charger + batteries) once off

Lovely little planer. I have a RSI in my wrist so this is perfect for me. Loads of power and the 65mm panning width hasn’t held me back yet, has a max of 4mm. Most 82mm machines max out at 2mm. The 36mm hose gives you better extraction but 27mm hose is better balanced in my experience, fantastic dust extraction. Used it on oak this weekend.

A little expensive for a jigsaw but I’m invested in the Festool system. Very ergonomic and feels great in my hand. Took some stars off because with the dust shroud on and splinter guard on you cannot see your cut line when working on top of the material. Better to use the saw from underneath the material as per the image above. Good dust extraction for a jigsaw, potentially the best on the market in terms of dust extraction?

Its a vacuum so not much to say but it works flawlessly. Bought the 36mm hose to use it with the mitre saw and router(27mm for other tools in the Festool lineup) and it works as well as the more expensive models in the Festool vacuum stable. Only need the other units if you need more capacity or more advanced features etc.

Fantastic drill, great ergonomics. I have the XL set version which has the angle chuck and the depth stop chuck. You can use the hammer mode with the angle adapter chuck attached.
The 4 speed gearbox gives you a lot of flexibility and the brushless motor gives great battery life and in theory longer tool life. The 4th speed is amazing @3800rpm, only Metabo can rival that now with their new drill recently released overseas. Its hammer drilling is awesome but very loud, wear ear protection.
The price seems high but if you look at Makita’s premium brushless drill which is only available as a bare tool, add in 2x batteries and a charger, the Makita will cost you more. However the Makita, Dewalt, Metabo premium models have higher torque ratings so if you require that then those would be better for you.

On the pricey side but works like a mobile mitre saw. Works on the FSK rail system which comes in 3x sizes and the traditional FS rail system too. There is a dust bag available and it catches a lot of dust which was a surprise. Hardest wood I’ve used it on is 38mm CCA treated pine which it handled fine. Festool make ripping blade and fine tooth blade for it too, trimmed a door with the fine tooth blade with zero tear out.

Arguably the best mitre saw on the market in terms of accuracy and dust extraction. Make sure you use a 36mm hose for dust collection. Dual lasers one on each side of the blade and you can customize them yourself etc. If you use a sacrificial fence and raise the blade depth you can increase the cut thickness to 98mm from 88mm. Worth every penny. Love mine

Very well machined drill bit, excellent quality. As others have said, need to use high speed drill. I use my Festool PDC 18/4 cordless drill @3800rpm and have perfect plugs every time.
NB!! Read the manual that comes with the drill bit, will help anyone having issues. Now I’m just waiting for the HD version.

Works brilliantly, no masonry dust escapes so no mess to cleanup. Vacuum port swivels left or right to keep hose out of your way, vacuum suction keeps it glued to the wall. It does shorten your drilling length slightly so keep that in mind. Designed for Festool 27mm nozzle but other vacs will fit with an adapter or reducer.
